Michell (Shelli) Jardine Blare Memorial Support
Donation protected
During a #Foodnotbombs volunteer event on April 3rd, Michell and two volunteers became the victims of a horrendous, violent crime. A man with deadly intentions purposefully rammed his car into the three women. Michell and the two volunteers were taken to the hospital. Despite the lifesaving efforts of heroes on the scene and emergency responders, she did not make it. Michell was homeless and two amazing volunteers, part of a team of people who served her last meal, showed her kindness and love before she passed. The two other women were severely injured. However, we are in contact with the two survivors, and we will support each other through this difficult journey.
Michell was kind and understanding of others. We would love to hear stories from those who knew her. It is difficult to process what has happened. One of the best things in this world we can do for each other is to share love and support each other.
There are 2 other GoFundme campaigns raising money from this tragedy. We are working in cooperation with #FoodnotBombs, @Familysoupmutualaid, and the Roman family in raising funds. The other gofundme groups related to this accident will help with some memorial expenses, we are extremely grateful for all of the support they have shown our family. Michell has family out of state that would like to attend her memorial, we would like to be able to pay for travel costs. Several of Mitchell's kin also struggle with homelessness and we'd like to interrupt this pattern. We are so thankful for everything they do for this community and have done for Michell. Donations in her name will be made to organizations that have helped Michell and programs that support youth at high risk of homelessness.
RGJ article about this https://www.rgj.com/story/news/2023/04/07/criminal-complaint-says-david-turner-was-driving-jeep-liberty-when-he-drove-it-into-3-people/70091108007/

The families and friends of the victims of this crime are working together and will distribute any remaining funds back to local organizations and collectives that help feed the homeless in our community.
A celebration of life will be held in June to mourn the loss of this woman who ties us all together. Michell was a grandmother, mother, sister, and friend.
Many thanks to the Reno community, who has already shown us so much support and love.
