Hello Everyone,
It's me. Your friendly neighborhood Michele. As most of you know I have dreamed of being a comedy writer/comic since I was 8 years old (I’m older than that now). Over the years, I have snagged and I’ve soared (part of the charm of the gig.) But, I love it.
Recently I have found a school that would immerse me in Comedy for a year. A whole year! Can you imagine? That's like, two hundred and something whole days! It’s the American Comedy Institute, right here in the city in which I dwell.
The reasons I want to immerse myself in this school? Here goes:
A. I am no longer eight years old (see above). If now is not the time, pray tell, when is?
B. I'd meet LOTS of comics and get LOTS of contacts. I could use that jumpstart. Who doesn't enjoy a jumpstart now and again?
C. I'm excited. What I mean is...I haven't been this excited since undereye concealer made me look 10 years younger. What a day that was!
Ready for the rub? My current income doesn't support the cost of the program. That is, unless I don't pay my rent or buy food or ride the subway or breathe, basically. Bad plan. A good friend suggested that instead I do a Go "Fun"d me page. Get it? Go FUNd me!! Hilarious. OK…so it’s clear why I need to go to Comedy school?
What I'm trying to say is...I'd love for you (my peeps, my boo’s) to assist me. I'll pay it forward, I promise. If you know of any contacts that have funds that would looooove to help a girl out, that would be great!!! Send them to this page.
