My name is Pat and I am raising funds for Michele DelMonte who is in desperate need of a new handicap accessible van. The floor in Michele's 14-year-old van is literally falling out. When a mechanic put her van up on a lift the back spring fell out onto the floor of the garage. This problem is in addition to many other things going wrong on the old van. It is particularly worrisome as Michele uses a motorized wheelchair for all her needs including going to a part time job. She is 75 years old with a progressive disability but continues to do all she can to navigate through her day and support herself.

A new handicap accessible van starts at around $80,000! This is a cost that is impossible for Michele to carry. She has found a used van at a much more reasonable price but the people holding the van need to sell it so time is an issue. Michele as worked her whole adult life and continues to reinvent her working self as her disability progresses. I am in awe of her tenacity. But she needs help. Insurance does not cover any part of it, and so I am appealing to anyone who would like to help someone who continues to strive to care for herself obtain new wheels. Thank you.
