Michele's rare leukaemia battle

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

My name is Shelly. My siblings and I have started this fundraiser for our mom, Michele.

She was recently diagnosed with a rare form of acute leukemia and has had to temporarily relocate to Vancouver for life-saving treatment, including intensive chemotherapy. She’s now waiting on another bone marrow biopsy to see if the treatment has put her into remission. Depending on the results, she may need another round before moving to outpatient care near VGH, where she’ll continue treatments every few days until a bone marrow donor match is found — a process that can take several months.

Michele is expected to be there for up to nine months, facing the costs of travel, medications, and daily living while focusing on her health. She’s a devoted mom, loving Nonna to five beautiful grandkids, a sister, a friend, and a caring community leader.

As the regional group leader for Soaring Spirits International, Michele runs the only widowed support group in B.C. After losing her husband, she created a space where others could connect and heal — bringing people together in the most meaningful way.

Now it’s our turn to support her. Every donation, big or small, will go directly toward her medical and living expenses as she fights this battle.

If you can, please donate or share her GoFundMe. Every bit helps lighten the load so she can focus on healing. She’s one of the strongest, kindest people we know — let’s surround her with love and support.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity.
