Stand With Michele

In November 2023 our beloved friend Michele entered the hospital with severe indigestion. In December 2023 she exited the same hospital with Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. Where she once stepped with confidence everything is now so terrifyingly unfamiliar and uncertain.

 

As if a cancer diagnosis were not enough Michele would come to learn she has a $7,750.00 out of pocket deductible for chemo and $744.00 is her monthly prescription out of pocket expenses to offset the side effects of chemo.

 

When fighting for your life you should not have to worry where the money is going to come from for potentially lifesaving treatments yet that is exactly where Michele finds herself. To hear her tell it, “Cancer is relentlessly attacking from every angle...trying to literally take my life...steal my beauty (she lost all of her hair), and my humility”. A once proud woman who gave endlessly to those in need, she now finds herself in need.

 

Michele is a warrior, yet chemo has presented itself as a formidable opponent to the extent her oncologist had to lower her dosage. Months left to go before she is to undergo a Whipple with the hopes of removing her tumor with clean margins. Her load is heavy but for everyone she has a smile and the greatest hug. She is everything to so many of us and deserves a second chance at life. Help us help her. Any amount will be appreciated and forever remembered.
