Michele’s Cancer Battle

Hello, my name is Christy and I am hoping to help raise funds for my life long friend Michele (Ogle) Powell and her family.

Many of you know Michele from going to school with her in Granbury. Others may know her from her many years of teaching with Alvarado ISD. Or, you have met her through her faith and church. Michele has always done her best to be kind, inclusive and to help whenever she is able.

But now, she and her family need our help. Michele has been diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. As you can imagine, this was a blow to everyone, especially her son Braydon.  She has had surgery, hospital stays, ER visits, testing and treatments. None of which are free. Due to her health, Michele had to quit working. This is something she hated to do. She loved teaching. This also means that her family has gone from two incomes down to one. The Powell family is based in Cleburne but Michele’s specialists and medical team/treatments are in Dallas. Her diagnosis requires frequent if not daily trips to and from Dallas. The reduced income, her husband Preston missing work for appointments on top of the added medical expenses and gas to and from have taken a toll.
