Restorative Justice: Healing/Off The Mat

It has been some time, hasn't it since I've been in this space. The last time you heard from me I sought out help to support my sister who nearly died from Extremem Ulceritis Colitis. Since then, we have been on a healing path accepting the passing of our Mom. So, to say 2018 was a year of deep change and shifts would be an understatement. But the sun still shines and there is still work to be done.
Today I ask for your help for me...for the community of Asheville [where I reside] and the world. In the year that has gone by, I have mourned the passing of my Mother but I've also come out much clearer on the work that is left for me to do. Like my Mom [she was a Minister and loved her flock in Orlando,Fl.] my love for people and my mindset "to be of service" I'd like to think I get from her.
But I digress.
Since last year, I have become a Certified Yoga Teacher, shifted my business to engage in Mindful Leadership retreats and open discussion from a space of conscious awareness to eleveate and heal the human collective consciousness. And so I am embarking on a path for deeper "health, healing &wellness" and I am in need of s upport to become a certified facilitator for Seane Corn's "Yoga In Action [YIA] Leadership Facilitator Training'.
This work is about addressing the issues we are facing in our communities from the lens of social justice and providing safe space to unpack and embark on the deeper conversations as well as engaging in the deeper work of accountability that is needed. YIA trains Yoga Teachers, Social Justice Advocates and many others on how to use the tools of meditation and yoga to engage the process of self awareness, self-accountability and healing that is needed. This training is a 2-part series.
The funds that I aim to raise would cover my cost to take the 5-day intensive [Yoga, Action & Purpose] and the 7-week training to becoming a Yoga In Action Facilitator. This training would add to my tool box the training and mentorship needed to hold even greater space in support of our "healers - social workers, therapist, cllinicians, doctors, and medical faculty / staff" through mindful practices as we continue to meet the needs in our community around social injustices that lead directly to our health disparities for those who have been marginalized, oppressed, not seen nor heard.

Many of you know me and have worked with me; personally and professionally. And you know, I have always said, my reason for being here is for such a time as this. To be of service, to show up and hold space for powerful healing. These trainings would allow me to further my goal "to be of service"as I continue engaging in the conversation and co-collaborating with many of you and others in our community to now create spaces for our amazing healers, light-workers, social justice workers, therapists, counsellors, yoga teachers, and many more.
Your support in helping me to achieve this next milestone in the chapteres of my story, is greatly appreciated, truly needed and I am grateful..more than words can express.
