As many of you know our dear friend Michele (Madhuliika) had a traumatic accident while mowing.
The good news is that she did not lose any of her toes, but they were badly injured.
After receiving 22 stitches in the ER, 3 days later she underwent surgery. The surgery was successful and she hopes to regain some mobility in the toes that had shattered bones, but it will be a long slow recovery. She has pins in 2 toes that will be removed 6 weeks after surgery. In the meantime she is not able to move around unassisted and very limited in her ability to maintain her normal duties around Dharmalaya and is unable to work.
Those of you that know Michele know how hard working and active she is. She takes care of her family, friends and community. That's what she does. Her teaching work supports the family and keeps Dharmalaya running. She does so much to take care of others and now she needs our support.
She has had to miss the last month of teaching work and as a substitute she is not entitled to paid sick leave. This is creating some financial hardship and we'd like to help ease that burden. Please join us in giving a little something to help Michele heal with peace of mind.
We are hoping to raise $1,500, enough to cover her month of lost wages. We also want to thank all those who have come by to help out with work. All your love and support is grealy appreciated! Every little bit helps!
