On December 13th, Michele (my mom) checked herself into the ER at Bozeman Health for severe abdominal pain. The doctors found a large cyst (more than 13 cm) above her right ovary. After more tests and scans, the ER doctor told us that she was extremely concerned that Michele had ovarian cancer not only because of the cyst, but also because certain cancer markers in her blood were elevated above the normal level.

We were told that emergency surgery at Billings Clinic was necessary. On the 21st, Michele went into surgery to remove her uterus, one ovary, and the cyst. The surgeon told us that the cyst was actually much larger than originally thought; it was the size of a very large potato, was twisted around her right ovary, and attached to her large intestine. 

Surgery went extremely well. The Surgeon said that she did not see any cancer, but we are still waiting for the official pathology report. We got her back home on Christmas Eve! 



However, there is still a very long road of recovery ahead for Michele. She has already missed two weeks of work and will miss more while she is healing. She will also have many medical bills which may not be fully covered by insurance and financial aid. Please consider donating even just a small amount to help with her recovery. 

We are looking forward to our mom returning back to work and full health.
