***FINAL STATUS UPDATE*** I was finally able to get the last carcinoid removed in September. I am recovered fully but have to stay on my meds for 6 more months. I feel great. I just get winded easier for now. Lungs are getting stronger everyday. I could use your support one last time to pay for my meds. They are expensive but necessary to stay cancer free. My goal now is $3000. That should cover all 6 months of meds for me. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. Thank you all so much for your loving g, generosity and support.
**UPDATE**Assuming I can accomplish the goal here...tentative date of surgery is Feb. 29th. Carcinoid measured 3.2mm at last visit. Growing slightly faster than the other 2. Any and all help is appreciated
Hi,
I'm Michele. In July of 2023, I was diagnosed with Stage 1a Typical Bronchial Carcinoid. On September 28th, with the loving help of my daughter, Shalyn, I was able to have the 2 tumors removed. She started a GFM for my meds and surgery and raised enough to accomplish the goal. All looked like it was going perfectly. But not quite. At my 3 month check up and scan, a third carcinoid was revealed. I couldn't believe it. I thought I was winning the fight but not yet. BUT I WILL. I, once again received help from the hospital charity fund but I still need to come up with $4000. That's relatively small compared to the last one. I still take the Sandostatin but take 200 mcg/d 2 x a month now instead of the daily doses i was taking. Still pricey though. I feel good about the prognosis. My doctor requested a 3D scan of my lung to check all possible angles for any more sneaky spots to hide. Nope....just the one. It is 1.75mm, but it is growing so I am once again hoping for your support. Anything helps. If you cannot help financially, its ok. Please share this link. I am so very grateful to everyone who helped before and for any future help provided. Here's to getting this ugliness out of me once and for all. Thank you for reading and sharing. Much love to you all.
Michele
