My name is Eva, and I'm fundraising for my daughter and her husband, whose house burned on March 16, 2022. What the fire didn't destroy was ruined by the smoke and water damage. Because the house is in probate, they weren't able to get homeowner's insurance on it but had a $10K renters policy. There is a small outbuilding that they are camping in and they hope to fix it up enough to be able to live in it until the house can be repaired.

Right now, they are both still in shock. They lost their sweet kitty in the fire and are both broken-hearted. Every time I speak with my daughter she tells me about something else that she realizes is gone forever. She can't seem to see past what she has to do each day.

Every day they have to spend money to replace things, clothes, medicines, medical equipment, and right now they need a bed (they've been sleeping on a blow-up mattress).

They fixed the roof and installed a toilet in the outbuilding and need a shower, sink, etc., to make a complete bathroom. Then they need to create a make-shift kitchen. They've already had a microwave, toaster oven and some kitchen items donated but need much more.

The work has just begun. Thinking about what it's going to take to fix the house is overwhelming because they don't have the money to do it.

I'm hoping that we can raise enough money to remove all the debris out of the house, rebuild the interior, put on a new roof and then to furnish it.
