Urgent Help Needed for Our Dear Friend Michel Sponberg (a.k.a. Michel Borgilion)
Dear Friends,
Our beloved friend Michel Sponberg—known to some by his Belgian birth name, Michel Borgilion—is in desperate need of our support.
Michel has been battling Parkinson’s Disease for 17 years and is now in Stage 5, the most advanced stage of this debilitating condition. He is wheelchair-bound and entirely dependent on a few devoted friends who are volunteering their time and limited resources to help him meet his most basic daily needs.
Over the years, the financial toll of medical care has left Michel with virtually nothing aside from Social Security and a small pension—far from sufficient to afford the round-the-clock care he now requires. He is currently facing a $7,000 monthly shortfall.
Time Is of the Essence
Michel is about six months away from receiving partial relief through Medicaid. In the meantime, we are urgently working to raise $50,000 to help bridge the gap in his care until more sustainable aid becomes available. We are also actively exploring federal, state, and private funding sources, but those avenues take time.
This is our opportunity to come together as a community and provide Michel with peace of mind and dignity during this incredibly challenging time. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference.
On behalf of Michel and those who love him, thank you in advance for your compassion and generosity.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Friends of MB
