It is with deep sorrow, and a heavy heart that I, Austin Smith, and my wife, Tatiana Smith, make this announcement and request for help.

Our beautiful 5 month old son, Michail Logan Smith, has passed away late evening Sept 2nd San Antonio Texas time, early morning Sept 3rd Kyrgyzstan time. He was visiting family in his mother's home country when this unexpected tragedy occurred. His heart had failed him. Although his mother and the emergency medical team worked desperately to resuscitate him, Mikey's heart refused to start again.

We hate to ask, but we are in desperate need of help to pay for the astronomical costs involved; the cost of the emergency medical response, the autopsy cost, the cost for the casket to return him home to San Antonio, the cost for the embalming for the flight, the cost for flying him home, the cost for his viewing and memorial service, and the cost for his cremation and urn. There are other costs involved; his death certificate, last minute plane tickets for my wife, 2 year old daughter, and parent-in-laws, to return back to San Antonio, etc.

We are overwhelmed with grief over the loss of our baby boy. Mikey was a beautiful, happy boy. Big blue eyes, blonde hair and an infectious smile. He would listen intently with that smile, while anyone talked to him. He would then talk back in the cutest baby babble. His big sister. Sophia, loves him immensely. She was so excited the day he came home. At only 2 years old, she was so kind and gentle to him. He was hitting his milestones and was just learning to roll over. He could melt anyone's heart in seconds with his bright smile. We are going to miss him so much.
