Michael Villani, a Bellmore native, is 44 years old and thought he finally had everything going for him. Married, he and his Wife, Jackie, have a beautiful son, Shane, almost reaching his terrible “2s”. Sadly, Michael’s life has taken a heartbreaking turn as he has recently been diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, commonly known as MDS. MDS is a form a cancer. More specifically, a disorder in which the cells in your bone marrow do not function properly and your body does not produce red blood cells. Within the past couple of months Michael has received numerous blood transfusions and has been undergoing chemotherapy, which will last for approximately 6 months, with the hope that Michael will be strong enough for a bone marrow transplant. Without proper treatment and a bone marrow transplant, MDS will likely develop into leukemia, which is life threatening for Michael. Instead of focusing on work and raising his young family, Michael is spending his time fighting for his life and struggling with medical bills and expenses to support his family. We are asking for your support and help providing Michael with a little hope for the future. Donations are needed to save Michael and his family from eviction, living expenses and assistance for his young son who has recently been diagnosed with Autism. Your help will mean the world to Michael and his family and help him on the road to recovery.
