On the morning of Friday, November 13th, Michael Selvidge struck a deer on his way to work. He veered off into the woods and hit a tree. After an hour of extracating him from the car, he was flown out to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
He suffered many broken bones including his femur, split knee cap, broken shin, and ankle. We are thankful these were all on the same leg while the other leg remained unharmed. He also has many broken bones in his face. He had a leaking spleen and small lacerations on his liver.
The doctors tell us he is in stable yet critical condition. It's too early to tell how long he will be there but we know he will have a very long recovery ahead of him.
Everyone has so generously been reaching out to us and asking how they can help. I decided to create this page for Mike, my sister, and their little family to help with the road ahead. There have already been so many costs including hotel rooms, gas money, meals, and caretakers for the kids. Also, Mike is obviously unable to work and we arent sure when he will be able to again. Medical bills are inevitable. Any donations - big or small - to this amazing family would be greatly appreciated.
They are enduring what no family ever wants to endure. Help us make things a little easier for them.
