We’ve almost reached the initial goal of $5K, thank you SO much to everyone for your tremendous support and generosity! I spoke with Michael and he’s very moved by the outpouring of support. I’m increasing the campaign goal to raise money to enable him to hire help to organize, document, and archive his life’s work as an artist. This is very significant as he is the only artist in his family and it is important that his work is properly organized and archived.

Update May 15, 2024

It is with a heavy heart that I write about the passing of my dear friend and close colleague Michael, this morning at around 3am. I visited with him at the hospital on Friday and we hugged goodbye. His family stayed with him over the weekend. His friends brought his dog Shadow to visit him on Saturday and Sunday at the hospital (Shadow is now rehomed with Michael's sister). Another close friend who flew in from Oregon a few days ago, stayed with him through the last days and was by is side when he passed. He died in peace. Thank you for all of the donations thus far. It really helped him feel supported and cared for. The remaining money goes directly to supporting his art estate, his dog, and his family taking care of his affairs in his absence.

We are planning a solo show of his beautiful artwork this coming fall and look forward to celebrating Michael, his life and his work.
