Michaels return home and back to health.

Story

Hi all, my name is Bailie and on October 26th, 2024; my older brother Michael was in a serious head on collision while on his way home to Waterloo from Tillsonburg, ON. He was life-flighted from Mt. Elgin: highway 19, to a hospital in London, ON. Due to this collision, Michael has suffered 3 brain bleeds, a broken back (T5) which may require surgery, 4 broken ribs, and a broken wrist which also requires surgery. Because of the seriousness of this accident, Michael has been placed on life support. Though the doctors have been attempting to take him off of it, he is facing some difficulties including his lungs filling with fluid, the risk of being placed back on a ventilator is high. Michael and his mom Sue are both caregivers of their sick family member John, who is recently diagnosed with cancer and kidney failure. Michael was very helpful towards john and sue, taking john to dialysis 3 times a week and helping his mom around the house when needed. Michael is a loving brother, son, and uncle to his beautiful nieces and nephews, who adore him greatly, and miss him greatly too. Though this is all fresh news, the timeline for Michael's recovery is a long road, including multiple months in the hospital, and an undetermined amount of time in rehabilitation, including physical therapy and having to relearn how to walk, talk, eat; ect. Once he is home, he will need to be supported by accessories like a wheelchair, a specialized bed and possibly some other equipment as well. Thank you for taking the time to read about Michael, he is a very important person to those who know him, and is loved a great deal. We need him to recover and gain strength back, one day at a time. Every donation counts, thank you. -Bailie Hunt, Sue & Dan Manning.
