Michael's PSC diagnosis and liver transplant

Donation protected
Michael was diagnosed with a rare, progressive chronic liver disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) over 10 years ago. PSC causes inflammation and scarring of the bile ducts, which blocks bile flow and damages liver cells, leading to liver failure. There is no cure for PSC and if you develop liver failure, the only treatment is a liver transplant.

It's been an uphill battle for Mike with multiple liver infections and the disease progressing quickly over the last 6 months. This lead to Mike going through the rigorous process to be placed on the active organ donor list in the hope to receive a liver transplant.

Just recently, Michael received a lifechanging call, giving him the greatest gift - a donor liver to receive a transplant. The road to recovery is long, however we have no doubt that Mike will have the strength to keep powering on.

Mike is the kind of person that goes above and beyond to help his family and friends out. Now it's our turn to show up for Mike and his family. Any support received would help with ongoing medical and everyday expenses for his recovery.

We can't wait to see Mike get back home to his wife and 3 beautiful children. And of course to be able to get his boat in the water again and cast in a line!
