Michael's haircut to help
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Michael, and for many of you, it’s easy to pinpoint me as the guy with long curly hair always seemingly between Ottawa and Mississauga. This winter season I’ve finally decided to cut my hair and will be donating the hair itself to "Angel Hair for Kids" ,an organization that provides wigs for children who have lost their hair either due to cancer or other medical causes. The goal of this fundraiser is to help those who are outside homeless and vulnerable and provide them with the proper clothing, food and love they need . The proceeds of this fundraiser will be donated to St Mark and St Mary of Egypt (Ottawa) and St Maximos and St Domadios(The chapel-Mississauga) in aiding the homeless through outreach conducted weekly organized by the respective churches. I'm sure most of you have felt and, of course, noticed the bitter cold that is upon us. For most of us, this is a time to spend inside, around the fireplace with our families and enjoying the beauty of the winter season with the fun the snow brings. Unfortunately, for many of our brothers and sisters less fortunate than us, and without proper shelter, they have to endure this very tough winter season outdoors, hungry and unprotected from the elements. Regardless of how divided our society appears to be these days or our stances on important issues, we must always remember the duty we have as humans and Christians to love and care for each other in our words and our deeds. I ask that if you cannot donate to this fundraiser, that we together can try to better help those in need, either by starting conversations, listening, providing food, taking part in the existing outreach programs wherever or by anything you feel you can contribute with to those around you. * Please message me if you would like a tax receipt provided to you.
I will post the final haircut and process with pictures and videos on facebook :)
Matthew 25:35-40
35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
