One day at a time… When you are diagnosed with cancer, it turns your life upside down and all the certainties in life suddenly seem to disappear. Hearing my Dad had cancer singlehandedly changed every aspect of my life. All that I knew about life rearranged itself unexpectedly in front of my eyes. Familiarity to the lives that we built and understanding of the world vanished. Logic and reason could not explain the events unfolding before me. My WORLD sat still… My WORLD cried for hours on end…. My WORLD struggled in every sense of the word.
My Dad reminded me to take a deep breath and fight this battle one day at a time. To hold onto the strength and love inside of me. My Dads unwavering love overshadows any pain or sadness I feel. His faith and strength within continue to inspire me every day. I want to be a better person because of the man I am blessed to call Dad. Thank you for being my ROCK and my IDOL and reminding me of how precious life is. If I could be like Mike…

On February 9th, after months of being misdiagnosed, Michael Stednitz was diagnosed in the late stages of colon cancer. On March 5th he had a complicated surgery in hopes of removing all of the cancer. The Doctors removed many body parts including a fifth of his colon, his cecum, the muscles in his stomach, back muscles, side muscles, the muscle that controls the lifting of your leg, lymph nodes, half of his right kidney, ureter, and appendix. Unfortunately, the Doctors were unable to remove all of the cancer and it has spread throughout his body.
He is currently undergoing chemo and radiation 5 days a week for 7 weeks. After the 7 weeks he will start a very aggressive chemotherapy for 6 months. During this time I am asking for as many prayers as possible. We need Michael to keep up his strength as he continues to fight this battle. In addition to your prayers, our family would greatly appreciate it if you could also lend some financial support so that Michael can focus on this battle and not worry endlessly about providing for his family. As you may know, he is a humble man that would never ask for help but one that is in need of our prayers and support during this very crucial time.
