Rally Against Cancer Mike Paradise!

Donation protected

At the end of May, Mike was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma. At that time he was accepted into a clinical research trial at Stanford Hospital. Mike was positive about his treatment and ready to beat this nasty cancer!

Unfortunately, there was an unforeseen complication just days before his first scheduled treatment. As part of the criteria for the clinical trial, Mike was to have a repeat MRI (truly a formality). On the MRI,  it appeared that Mike had a stroke. Although, at that time Mike had no symptoms. It was not a "textbook" presentation of a stroke.

From the beginning of his illness, he puzzled the doctors at Stanford, and now they were totally perplexed as to what exactly was happening and why. So many doctors were now involved in Mike's case, and he had been presented at a Tumor Board conference 3 times.

Concerned that what was happening may not have actually been a stroke but something else, our last resort was to do a biopsy of the brain to definitively know what was going on and how to treat. During that time Mike unfortunately did become symptomatic and was progressively declining. He is presently unable to walk, talk or use his right arm.

The biopsy was done and revealed that Mike had in fact not had a stroke, but that this was a demyelinating autoimmune process, which was the better of the possibilities. Mike is in Stanford Hospital undergoing aggressive treatment.

He is not able to use his phone or Facebook yet, but I (Megan) will be reading any messages he gets to him. And if anyone would like more info please feel free to msg Megan Paradise on Facebook for more information and updates.

This is a trying time for Michael and his family. He has a new baby daughter named Madison and has been at Stanford battling this horrible disease and we now need some help. Medical Bills, the new Baby's needs, and so many things that have piled up are adding stress and fatigue for Mike and his wife while they go through this.

Please keep Michael and his family in your prayers and anything you can help with would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions about the family's needs, you can contact me also, I am Dave Paradise, Michael's brother, msg me on FB.
