My name is Christina and I am seeking help for my niece's son Buknoy who is 6 years old. He was recently diagnosed with a brain stem glioma of the 4th ventricle that affects his vision and daily activities. Buknoy is his nickname ... His legal name is Michael James Pacual.
Buknoy is 6 years old and like most 6 year olds, he loves to play. He loves watching cartoons and playing with his little brother Butchoy. Eversince he was diagn osed in early December, Buknoy has not been able to go to to school, he has chronic headaches, walks as if he is "drunk", and is constantly vomiting. His little brother knows something is wrong with his big brother, but tries to cheer him up when is feeling down. Buknoy wants to fight the cancer and in his own words "wants to finish school and take care of his parents" and is always cooperative when he goes to the doctor for his checkups.
Buknoy lives in the Philippines with his mother and father and younger brother. They live in a 1 room "shack", and their father works long hours and has no health insurance for his family. His father makes 100$ every month, brings home 50$ every 2 weeks.
I have been sending them money to help defray the medical expenses. But now he needs radiation treatment which is very costly. The trip to the hospital is 5 hours round trip. Cyndi, his mother wants to find a room near the hospital for them to stay while he is getting treatment. Doctors won't treat unless payment is made. His mother is seeking financial assistance from anyone that will help.
Buknoy needs the funds as soon as possible. The sooner he gets the funds the sooner he gets treatment. Buknoy and his family are seeking any financial assistance for his treatment so that he can go back to school and someday fulfill his dream of becoming a doctor.
