In Memory of Michaele Ward

Our dear friend, Michaele Ward, passed away late last night, April 23rd 2024 after battling an aggressive cancer since August 2023. The two most important people in her life never left her side, her husband, Tim, and daughter, Madeleine.

For those unaware, the Ward's have contributed to our community in countless ways over the last 25-years. Michaele became a volunteer at Point Dume Marine Science School when her daughter, Madeleine, started kindergarten in 2002. She gave untold hours creating art projects, contributing classroom time and instilling her unique style of 'Michaele-warmth' to every kid she encountered. She became a teaching aid and continued to support the Malibu schools as front office assistant at Webster Elementary. She always greeted everyone with a smile and surrounded them with warmth and kindness.

Michaele’s husband, Tim, has cared for her full-time since her diagnosis this past August. In his own right, Tim has been a strong supporter of Malibu youth through sports programs at every level. A coach, a referee, a board member, a mentor. To this day, he continues to contribute skills gained as an NCAA collegiate athlete to assist the coaches and students on the Malibu High School and at Cal Lutheran College track teams.

Tim's dedication to his wife, never leaving her side since her diagnosis, impacted his work and career. After this long, courageous fight, the Ward family now faces a large amount of uncovered medical expenses. Your generosity will help alleviate the financial strain and allow Tim and Madeleine to focus on grieving and healing. Michaele will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, warmth and kindness will live on in our hearts and our community forever.
