Michael's Bills while in Hospital

UPDATE!:

Michael is a hard working, energetic, and driven man. He has also devoted his life to raising his son Ian as a single Father.
He is a generous man with a great sense of humor. All who meet him love him and he treats both young and old as if they are all his personal friends.

In March, 2015, Michael was diagnosed with early stages of pancreatic cancer! On March 30th, he was operated on. He was sent home April 4th. At home, he was having a hard time walking and eating. He went to the Doctor for follow-up on March 14. He was told this was all part of the healing process. Sheila went to his apartment on April 17th, as he had stopped answering his phone. She found him near death. He had a (yet to be discovered) ruptured colon. Another surgery was performed on April 20. They corrected all they could but had to leave some of this "leak" open. He has been in Intensive Care ever since. He had a breathing tube for three weeks, then was given a tracheotomy (which was just removed), several more procedures to place various drains in his colon, and has had no food for over a month. They are hoping the leak heals spontaneously (which it hasn't yet). He is scheduled to go to rehab Monday, and it is hoped the leak will heal spontaneously. The Doctor says he will be there three months. If it does not close, he will have yet another surgery and be in rehab for about eight more months.

Being a commissioned sales representative and not being able to work, he must now depend on his SS check to cover his expenses. The amount does not even come close to what he must put out every month.
We are doing this GoFundMe in the hopes to aid in enabling him to pay his myriad of bills. We have set a goal of $6000 for the three months he will be in rehab. If he needs to be in rehab longer than that,
we will deal with it at that time. Any amount donated will be gratefully accepted. And if you are unable to give, your prayers and good wishes will be happily accepted.

Thank You,
     Ian and Sheila Datz
