Michael with surgery 4 tumor in his humerus bone
Donation protected
Hi my name is Michael DiRocco, I am 33 years old from Bridgewater NJ, married to my beautiful wife Vanessa we have a beautiful 2 year old Daughter named Sophia. I’m normally not the one to ask for help, for money, or put to much of my personal life on the internet. I am the only income in the house since my wife Vanessa is a stay at home mom caring for our daughter Sophia. Because I am self employed I am not able to collect unemployment or disability for my injury. Also because I am not employed I do not have health insurance through an employer, and the marketplace was unaffordable costing me over $1,000 a month. I dropped the insurance after Sophia was born during the pandemic because I couldn’t afford it any longer because of the rising cost and cut in business from Pandemic. So all my Doctors visits have been out of pocket costing me thousands already. It was a blessing in disguise I broke my arm because unbeknownst to me I had a tumor in my left arm just below the shoulder. I injured myself playing softball as I slid into 3rd base, when I did my pop slide my elbow dragged on the ground and snapped my arm. Never feeling it break I thought it was just a stinger. After a few mins I knew something was wrong when I couldn’t move my arm. Doctors told me my arm should have never broken and the deterioration from the tumor eroded the marrow inside and weakened the structure of the bone in the surrounding area allowing the bone to break completely. The tumor has been there since I was a child and I never knew! Luckily it is not malignant and chances of cancer are less than 1%. Unfortunately I will need reconstructive surgery, pins and rods to hold the bone in place and bone graphs after they remove the tumor to allow the are to heal and rejuvenate. This is going to be a long road to recovery. I most likely will need multiple surgeries they said to make sure I make a full recovery. Normal humeral fractures will take 4-6 months to heal before physical therapy. It might take me a year or longer to make a full recovery. I am setting up this fund to help pay for doctors visits, surgery, and household bills while I am out of work after surgery. Any little bit will help! If you find it in your heart to donate, know we really appreciate any amount no matter how small or large it is! If you can’t donate please send your prayers to me and my family! As well as Sophia! So she can be able to play again with her daddy after he recovers.
Thank you again for reading, for your donations, and your prayers! Love you all❤️
