Michael Wiebe's Epilepsy Treatment

Michael was diagnosed with epilepsy in the fall of 2017. Over the years Michael has been on medication and it was working well until recently when the medication no longer was helping. Michael spent three weeks in the Health Science Centre in the fall of 2018 and there it was decided by his doctors that he should go to the London Ontario Health Science Centre to undergo a Intracranial Electrode Implantation. They originally set the date for July of 2020, but recently Michael had begun to have more frequent and more violent seizures which has led to him being off of work for the past two months.

Thankfully the doctors pushed up Michael's procedure to March, and him, his wife, and his 3 month old son will be travelling to London at the end of February. They will be driving to London and staying in London for as long as the procedure takes. Doctors estimate it will be 3-4 weeks. We are grateful that he will finally be getting the medical help he needs, but it has been a very trying time for Michael's young family.  With him being off work, and his wife off as well to care for their newborn child, it has not been easy for the family. The worst part of it all for Michael is the doctors told him he cannot even hold his baby boy without having someone there with him. 

We are asking for your help to cover costs for the family to get to and from Ontario, and as well to help cover their costs of living while Michael is unable to work, we do not know yet how long it will take for Michael to return to work once the procedure is completed. Doctors are hopeful it will be less than 6 months, but there is no way to say for sure.
