Michael Vincent &Mom Debbie Nicely need your help

Michael Vincent, Debbie Nicely’s son, was severely brain injured, while riding his bike and hit by a car 15+ years ago. As well as the T.B.I., which resulted in numerous brain surgeries, Michael sustained numerous other internal and external injuries. Michael was left completely blind as a result. As if the blindness wasn’t enough, his digestive system does not function as it should which makes daily living and functioning extremely difficult. Today, at the age of 51, he continues to need constant assistance and care.
Prior to the accident, Michael was an extremely active young man. He was known best for his BMX career, as well as being a Professional Golf Caddie. All of this came to a screeching halt on January 18, 2008.
Michael’s mother, Debbie, alone has been his caregiver while also holding down a full time job as an Office Manager. She has paid hundreds of thousands of dollars out of pocket for treatments not covered by insurance. Debbie has been a devoted mother and has always ensured that Michael’s needs came first. Now, at nearly 71 years old, Debbie struggles with the prospect of yet another excessive financial burden.
Among his many injuries, Michael’s jaw was broken in the accident, but left untreated as the brain injury was the number one priority for the doctors. Over these years, a wonderful dentist has continued to do restorative work on Michael’s teeth which has been thousands of dollars every year, in an attempt to save his teeth. It has come to the point where the dentist cannot feasibly continue to restore his bottom teeth. Michael cannot wear dentures as a result of the broken jaw, which may be a common solution for most people. The options for Michael’s dental issues are limited.
Option #1: Extract each tooth, one by one, and do an implant for each (he has one implant now). The math: 15 implants x $2,500.00 (at minimum) = $37,500.00.
Option #2: Extract all of the lower teeth and implant a lower “hybrid”, which is a permanent set of customized teeth implanted. The dentist, who has provided extensive care to Michael throughout these years, has generously discounted the overall fee to $22,000. Insurance will not cover any of this! (The dentist has also offered to do the procedure on a Friday, knowing that Debbie is off on Fridays!).
Half of the $22k is due by the first week in July. The remainder is due in August. This is an incredible burden on Debbie as Michael is blind and disabled, and continues to require other medical treatments as well.
As well as the dental procedure, Michael needs customized hearing aids as soon as possible, costing in excess of $5,000.00. He had broken bones in his left ear, as a result of the accident in 2008. His hearing is rapidly diminishing. Debbie is concerned that not only is Michael blind, but will become deaf as well. This is yet another major expense for this mother and son.
This mother and son have been through so much over the past 15+ years. If you find it in your heart to help, anything and everything will be so greatly appreciated by Michael and Debbie. God Bless.
