The Westport Education Association is raising funds in memory of one of our beloved members, Michael Sansur. Mike was a longtime technology education teacher at Staples High School in Westport, CT whose life was tragically cut short following a recent car accident. Mike was traveling with his son, who is currently hospitalized with serious injuries.
Our goal is to raise money to help defray medical costs for his hospitalized son and to help the family with expenses going forward (such as future college costs for his 2 high school daughters). Michael lived in Milford with his family and his daughters currently attend Jonathan Law High School.
Mike touched the hearts of all students who walked through his door. A comment from a former student on Dan Woog's blog "06880 - Where Westport Meets the World" said this, "I remember Mr. Sansur and his Tech Ed class. It was the only class where I felt like I’ve belonged and he opened up a world of possibilities and a desire to learn more. He taught the importance of attention to detail, design, and craftsmanship. Which influence me to pursue architecture at uni. As I’m writing this, the lamp that helped me build is still on my desk and its light will not go out."
There is no better testament to the teacher Mike was. Please help us support Mike's family during this most difficult time.
Thank you,
