Michael Rybski was hospitalized over a week ago with COVID. Things weren't improving and he was put on a ventilator because he just could not breathe anymore on his own. He needed a break. He called his family at 3:36 in the morning to tell them he loved them and that he was going on the vent. At this point he was practically begging for relief. Once on the ventilator, the COVID Pneumonia on his lungs was not improving. He needed more. With much begging from his family, he was sent from Wyandotte HF hospital to Harper University Hospital where he was put on ECMO. The Dr.'s said this is not healing him, this is saving him from a natural death - it's giving him more time to heal. At this point it is up to Michael to fight with the help of GOD and prayers. FMLA will save his job for 12 weeks. However, this healing could take anywhere from 1-5 months PLUS. Michael has a wife, who is a teacher, and a 6 year old daughter at home who need our support. His wife will continue to work through this so that nothing happens to her job. She is trying to keep things as normal as possible at home. This family has had so many people rally around them and help in so many ways. Hopefully we can do a little more - because every little bit helps.
