Michael Peloquin, of Prescott, Arizona, suffered a severe medical emergency while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on October 8th. We are seeking donations to help offset the costs of his hospital stay in Mexico and his medical air evacuation from Mexico to the United States, which are not covered by medical insurance. Mike and his wife Darla had to pay a deposit of approximately $50,000 simply to get him to the U.S. safely.

Shortly after his arrival by medical flight to Prescott, Mike was diagnosed with an Aortic Dissection and transferred to Phoenix for open-heart surgery. He then had a second surgery to repair bleeding. Mike is slowly recovering in the ICU but is facing additional medical challenges. We learned he had a moderate stroke as well as multiple minor strokes in his brain. Mike has also suffered a stroke in his spinal cord which is causing lower extremity paralysis. The extent of damage from the strokes is unclear as of now. Mike has had to be on continuous dialysis due to the treatment of the aortic dissection before and after surgery. Mike will be in ICU for a while and at some point will graduate to an inpatient rehab facility. As of now he will be needing therapy and dialysis after his release from the hospital and rehab facility. He could require this care for the rest of his life. We are praying for God to heal Mike as quickly as possible as well as provide comfort and peace to his wife and daughter who are staying by his side and comforting him during this challenging time. The financial impact they are facing is severe, and we don't yet understand the full extent of how much this will cost or the effect this will have on their lives. We will provide additional updates on Mike's recovery journey as we learn more.
