Hi, my name is Jodie and I am fundraising money for my dad’s funeral MICHAEL SLINN.

Unfortunately, on the 4th June 2026 a legend sadly passed away at whipps cross hospital.

He was unwell for the last 6-8 months but we didn’t know what was wrong with him, when he couldn’t take the pain anymore he went to hospital and they told him he had a fluid build up in his stomach & that he needed to have it drained which he did on the 28th April & they sent him home.

when I got home from work as me and dad lived together, he wasn’t in a good way and finally agreed to go back to the hospital on 2nd of May and they admitted him. That’s when further testing was done.

on the 8th May thats when our lives were turned upside down. Me & my brother mikee got the call to come home from work as my mum needed to tell us something. We were then told dad had cancer in multiple places & he was too weak for treatment, our hearts were broken.

Anyone that knew my dad would know how much pride he had & he was also great dad, brother, friend & colleague.

these past few weeks have been awful & seeing him drastically decline the way he did is honestly something we will all never get over. We honestly thought we would get more time with him, but he is out of pain now & no more suffering.

Dad had a great life & lived it to the fullest. He was such an amazing man who will be missed so much by so many. He truly loved all his family & friends, but we all know his love for Leeds untied was unmatched!

funeral arrangements will be shared next week & anyone is more than welcome to come and pay their respects & raise a glass in memory of MICKY SLINN.

The funds will be used towards the funeral, as his passing was so unexpected.
