Michael “Palm Tree” Road to Recovery

Hello friends, we are starting this GoFundMe account as loved ones and family members of Michael “Palm Tree” Bergersen. As many of you well know Michael had surgery on September 3, 2024, in order to remove two pre-cancerous masses from his colon. It was a major surgery, removed a portion of his colon, and came with a significant amount of pain as well as the prediction of a long road to recovery.

Michael has had a set back and had to be returned to the hospital by ambulance just last night due to complications. He is currently stable and surrounded by great physicians as well as many prayers but we’re hoping to help provide him with monetary support to help alleviate any continued and additional stress upon he and his family. Michael is a self-employed plant broker and has no employees to assist him with his projects. He is unable to work until he is cleared to do so and cannot bend, twist or lift at all during this recovery time. We are told that this rehabilitation could take several months.

Palm Tree has the most enormous heart of anyone we’ve ever known. For over a decade PT has raised multiple thousands of dollars for children and adults on the autism spectrum as well as been a strong source of support for their families in and around the community. He has raised funds in order to provide special needs kids and adults with sensory issues by creating and building sensory gardens both at San Clemente High School as well as the Adult Transition Program in San Juan Capistrano. We feel it is time, as a community and as friends, that we give back to this amazing human! Any money donated will go directly toward his surmounting healthcare bills. Any amount you’re willing to contribute is so greatly appreciated at this time. A share with your family and friends would mean the world to us as well.
