Help Create a Memorial for Michael Ochsner
On May 18, 2025, our community suffered an unimaginable loss.
Michael Ochsner — along with his Dos Pueblos classmates and friends, Jake Curtis and Alexander Wood — passed away in a tragic car accident on Highway 1 near Gaviota.
We would like to honor Michael’s life and legacy with a memorial site at the 1-mile mark of our Goodland Cross Country course — a place where teammates, classmates, and community members can pause, reflect, and remember his lasting impact.
Funds raised will go toward the design, construction, and maintenance of the memorial, ensuring it remains a meaningful and lasting tribute to Michael for years to come.
Your contribution — of any amount — will help us create a space that reflects the warmth, strength, and kindness Michael shared with everyone around him.
Michael was going into his senior year at Dos Pueblos High School. He was a proud member of the Cross Country and Track & Field teams, a student in the Engineering Academy, and an exceptional tutor and classmate. Those who knew him remember his quiet confidence, deep curiosity, and thoughtful spirit. He had a love for reading, running, and helping others — qualities that made him a true Charger in every sense.
Beyond school, Michael was a multi-sport athlete who loved baseball, backpacking, skiing, and golf. He had just completed his lifeguard certification and was looking forward to spending his summer working on the beaches. Inspired by his older brother, Michael dreamed of becoming a firefighter and had plans to attend a fire camp in Oregon.
Thank you for helping us keep his memory alive.
With gratitude,
The Dos Pueblos Cross Country Family
