My brother Michael "Mike" Matos, age 36, passed away unexpectedly this past weekend, leaving all who knew him heartbroken and devastated. He was truly a one-of-a-kind, passionate guy who had an infectious laugh and lived his life fully. Mike was a father, son, brother, and good friend to many. The biggest joy in his life was spending time with his son Nico, age 7. Saying that he was a nature and reptile enthusiast is an understatement as all who knew him heard, and saw pictures, of his snakes he bred and many accompanied him fishing, hiking/exploring, or looking for animals to admire and catch for photos. Mike was also a great track athlete and made so many friends throughout the years participating in one of his passions.
It's very difficult to put into words how much Mike meant to me, his mother Lauri, his father Orlando, his extended family, and friends. We will miss his laughter, sense of humor, genuine smile, and personality that made Mike, Mike. He is missed so much and we only hope that time will help us heal.
All donations received will go towards alleviating costs of his memorial and other final expenses. Any leftover money will go to his son Nico. Memorial details are still in progress and will be shared as soon as we figure things out.
Thank you for reading this and for all the condolences. The outpouring of support has been comforting and heartening ♥️
