Hi , I am Christy Scott and I am fundraising to raise money for Mikey Ward. He is 18 years old and was diagnosed with b-cell lymphoma cancer. This diagnosis came on April 16, 2022. He went to the doctor on April 14, 2022 after not feeling well and discovering some lumps. He was sent for testing and transferred to Rochester for further testing and scans. Mikey is a sweet, kind, loving soul that puts everyone before himself. He is the oldest of three and puts his siblings first even though he is the one fighting cancer. One of the reasons I decided to do this fundraiser is because his dream is to go to college. After his chemo treatments the outcome looks good. I would love to be able to help make that dream come true.  First Mikey and his family will use the money for any medical bills that need to be paid that insurance hasn’t covered.  We all know how expensive chemo treatments are so it we could help lighten the burden financially for the family then please let’s do so. The rest of the money will be to help him further his education. Mikey has never had a easy life he has been taken care of people from the age of 9 probably earlier. I have known him from the age of 9 and he been doing this from the day I met him. He always made sure his siblings were fed before him. He would always make sure his mom was taken care of also. His dear Mom passed away on 8/30/18 due to an addiction she had been battling on and off. He always did a good job to hide it from the people he wanted to protect. She was a wonderful woman that tried her hardest to fight her addiction. He has been going back and forth to Rochester for treatments. Due to chemotherapy Mikey has lost all his hair, his face has broke out. He is extremely pale due to treatments. If you see him out you probably don’t recognize him because he always has a hat and a pair of sunglasses on. He is a Binghamton High School graduate of 2021. He went to Binghamton for all of his school career. He was an active athlete who played football,basketball, and baseball. He loves to spend time with his friends and family. All proceeds will go directly to him.
