On Sunday 31st August 2025, our incredible husband, dad, grandad, and great-grandad, Michael “Mickey B” Barrett, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family — just as he wanted.

We were able to give him this final wish because of the extraordinary care of the Haven Team, part of the Care Plus Group Charitable Trust. From the very day Dad was discharged from hospital, they became part of our family. Their compassion, dedication, and love carried us through the hardest weeks of our lives, and we will never forget what they did for Dad and for us.

The Haven Team were with us every step of the way. They visited three times a day to provide hands-on care, kept Dad comfortable with dignity, and supported us emotionally when the weight felt too heavy. They even provided night sitters so the family could rest, knowing he was safe. Their care gave Dad comfort and peace in his final weeks, and gave us strength, reassurance, and the comfort of knowing we weren’t alone.

Quite simply, we could not have done it without them.

We want to honour Dad’s memory by supporting the Haven Team, so they can continue helping other families in their most difficult moments. Every penny raised will go directly to the Care Plus Group Charitable Trust to support this vital service in the Grimsby and Cleethorpes area.
