Michael Lee “Shannon” Arnold

Michael Lee Shannon Arnold went to be with the Lord suddenly and unexpectedly on Sept. 28, 2023 after 58 years on this earth and more than 30 years of service to God as a minister and pastor.

Shannon, as he was known to friends and family, was pastor of Lander Valley Baptist Church. He was the devoted husband of his wife Rachel and beloved father to his children Caleb, Hannah and Joshua.

Shannon tirelessly served his congregation, community and family selflessly. Generous with his time, energy and spirit, Shannon touched many lives and guided many people not only to salvation but to better lives in relationship with Jesus Christ. Guiding couples through relationship issues and advising community members on issues of importance, Shannon left his mark on the world for the Lord.

His wife Rachel and adult children Caleb and Hannah mourn him deeply … as does his minor son, Joshua.

Joshua is a young child who is going to require considerable attention and care as time passes. Shannon was not only a full time pastor, but also made an immense amount of time available to be a caregiver to Joshua.

Because of his generous nature in caring for others, there are some financial needs left behind. Funeral, medical expenses and for the near future, adjusting without his income and presence, including ensuring Joshua’s needs, especially educationally, are met. Because of the needs, we are asking those who knew him, loved him and others of a generous and caring nature to please find a way to help them through this difficult time.

For those of you of faith, I feel confident in saying that anything you might share would be as if given unto the Lord as you are helping the family of a man who served God for more than three decades.

“If we sowed spiritual things in you, is it too much if we reap material things from you?” (1 Cor 9:11)
