On March 11, 2021 Michael Lackey was involved in car accident that resulted in catastrophic injuries. Mike is currently starting the long process of recovering from a fractured neck and back that has ultimately resulted in a spinal injury that will leave him permanently paralyzed from the neck down.

Mike is a Honorably Discharged Navy Veteran who was stationed on the USS Kitty Hawk and the USS Abraham Lincoln on the Crash and Salvage Crew. Everyone that has ever met Mike knows that his personality is larger than life. He is extremely outgoing and constantly going full steam ahead. Whether you have known him for long time or just met him, Mike is sure to always make you smile.  Mike is a true Californian whose spare time is spent on the beach with toes in the sand.  The love of his life is his daughter, Hannah. 

The journey ahead for Mike will be the hardest one he has faced yet. He is scheduled for neck surgery as soon as his body is strong enough. He will also be faced with intensive physical and occupational therapy. Mike will need 24 hour care for the rest of his life. 

How can you help? The road to recovery for Mike will be expensive. He will be responsible for hospital bills, rehabilitation bills, home renovations, transportation, home health care and more. We want Mike to be able to receive the best care possible and to have the best equipment and resources to make his recovery and quality of life as good as it can possibly be.  Being able to relieve some financial stress from him and his family will be a great start to his recovery.
