Michael John Sichi's road to recovery..
Donation protected
As a child we are selfish, unknowingly, in requiring all of our parents time and attention, and we are demanding in our wants and needs for their time and focus on us.
As an adult we now look at it differntly, and try to cherish the time we get to spend with them, but even then we take it for granted.
Then something happens and we can’t be there and we feel helpless.
Asking ourselves what can we do for them?
We feel guilty for not being able to physically be there.
As many of you know our Dad, Michael, fell while hanging a picture in their new home in California.
This fall was catastrophic on his body.
As a result of this fall, he broke his wrist in four places. He broke his lower forearm, his upper forearm and completely shattered his shoulder.
He's had two extensive surgeries which included pins and a band on his wrist and a complete rebuilt shoulder.
After a week of trying to find a surgeon who could repair such extensive damage he was recommended to Dr. Benjamin Hendy.
The surgeries were a great success.
Dr. Hendy was outstanding.
January 4th was the day of the accident.
It took a week to find a good orthopedic surgeon.
The two surgeries were a success on January 11th, and He ended up having to have a complete shoulder replacement with pins and plates put in the wrist.
He started physical therapy four days ago just on the wrist, and that will continue for the next six weeks before they can even start to attempt to work with the shoulder.
During all of this they are in the middle of moving from Oak Harbor WA to Lemoore California as they are being transferred with the United States Navy.
Our father, Being out of work, after having to purchase a new home for their transition to california, and make such a big move ( which they are still in the middle of, just has been halted due to Dads fall) has created a huge financial strain on them.
Dad has always helped bring in an extra income doing remodeling and furniture refurbishing for their household, but all that has come to a halt as he is physically unable.
He has a long road to recovery, and won’t be able to work for minimum of 6 months.
So with the big purchase of a home and having to put a down payment on it they are now in panic mode with this accident putting him off work and elminating a portion of their income.
We are reaching out to our friends and family within our communities across the nation to give as you feel led.
It's a hard time, and He will surely get through it.
We have seen many friends and family asking and saying, “let me know what I can do to help” but a lot of us being out of state, and across the country, we figured this would be easiest way for those who care to contribute, to share some support....
Any type of donation you could give to help them during this next six months would be greatly appreciated.
Your prayers in conjunction with your giving, are coveted!
Sincerely,
Michaels children:
