Hello all, my name is Sandi, the stepdaughter of Michael Jensen. In August of 2021, Mike was given inconclusive test results and sent home from one of his many hospitalizations, a few months later we learned that he had pancreatic cancer. This is where his brave and courageous fight began. Mike underwent chemotherapy and when doctors believed the time was right, they attempted to perform a "curative" surgery, a whipple procedure. During this surgery it was discovered that the cancer had spread into a surrounding area and the procedure was aborted, meaning his cancer was terminal. Mike did not give up though, he began looking for other options with the assistance of his medical team and the support of his wife, Teresa, who has stood by his side and been there for him throughout every step of his journey. Mike tried radiation treatments, along with oral chemotherapy, but this was taking too much of a toll on his body, so the treatments were stopped. At this point it has become about quality of life. While being his support system and primary caretaker through his fight, Teresa has had to leave work early, or miss shifts entirely. Between medical bills and time missed from work, I would like to see friends and family come together during this difficult time so that she does not need to stress over financial burdens and can focus solely upon the love of her life and the time they have left together.
