Michael Hunold Family Assistance
Donation protected
Michael Hunold aka "Spice" was a loving father, unique spirit, and gifted artist whose generous life force was extinguished suddenly in early December 2022. He was rushed to the hospital in the week preceding Thanksgiving and diagnosed with an aggressive and inoperable brain tumor. This insidious glioblastoma took him away in two weeks, stunning his family, countless friends, the artistic community of Woodstock NY, and his NYC film production colleagues.
His beloved college-aged sons Ryder and Dashiell were deprived of communication with their Dad before he suddenly departed. Proceeds raised will lend financial assistance to Michael's sons during this extremely difficult period of transition.
Many knew Michael as a superbly talented guitar player, performing in clubs from Woodstock to Waikiki.
In the film and TV lighting profession, his proficiency and creativity were highly regarded by the numerous cinematographers who appreciated Spicy Mike's contributions to their photographic vision. All who had the pleasure of working with him will miss his genuine kindness and easygoing presence on set.
Michael's photography was notable, prolific, witty and sensitive. He frequently shared generously with co-workers his candid portraitures taken while at work on film locations and soundstages.
We will all remember Michael as a free spirit who valued sparkle. His shining personality will be missed by many.
His son's Aunts, Alexandra and Joanna are co-administrators of the proceeds.
