Michael Hargraves brain hemorrhage recovery
Donation protected
On August 10th, 2019 our dear friend Mike Hargraves, only 49 years old, suffered a massive brain hemorrhage. He woke up with plans to go boating with friends, but quickly and unexpectedly developed stroke like symptoms. His girlfriend Jessica who is an ICU nurse recognized his symptoms and acted immediately. Mike was taken to Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah where his condition deteriorated immensely. Mike quickly required intubation and a CT scan of his brain. The CT scan showed a massive hemorrhage. Mike was then life flighted to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. Upon arrival, emergency surgery was performed. The surgeon placed a drain into his brain to stabilize the pressure in his head and he was admitted to the ICU.
Mike is a fighter and remains at IMC in Murray. We are amazed at all of the miracles that are happening each day. Although he is showing great strides in recovering, he will require long term care and physical therapy.
Mike is self-employed and does not have long term disability benefits. With your help some of his monthly/medical bills could be taken care of while Mike and his loved ones focus their energy on his rehabilitation. We are hoping he will get as much brain function and mobility back as he possibly can, but realize there is a long road ahead.
Mike is young and he has a lot of life left to live. He has the heart of a lion and is an inspiration to us all. He has touched many people’s lives and has been a great friend through the years. Everyone around him is welcomed with a big hug and a smile. Mike would be the first one to help others in need if the roles were reversed. We also know that he would want nothing more than to make his boys Wyatt and Hayden proud by fighting through this for them.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and donation. We love Mike and his family and are praying for all of them at this time.
