Dearest Family and Friends,

My name is Nicole and I am the daughter of Michael Greco. It is with a very heavy heart that I create this page for my father who needs assistance in paying for in-home hospice care. As many of you know, my father struggled with cancer for over a decade, originating in his bladder, which has been removed for quite some time now. The cancer remains persistent in his lung and hip area, and unfortunately, his body is too weak to receive any further treatment.

In the beginning of this summer, my father was staying in assisted living, which, for many of you that know him personally, is definitely not the setting for him. Although he's on a slower pace now, he singlehandedly made the place look lively and had a positive outlook upon staying there, even though he felt he did not belong there and had all the energy to complain about the food.

In the beginning of August, things took a turn for the worse. He was riddled with sickness and pain, and his cancer doctor informed him that after another visit to the ER, he would no longer be able to treat him. My father decided he would be happier in his home with an aide than paying the same price to the nursing home where he was not comfortable.

However, funds are quickly running out and we are in need of assistance. Reluctantly, my father gave me permission to create this page because he is not someone who likes to take handouts from anyone. My father is the type of man that spends his entire life taking care of those he loves and cares for, and does not expect anything in return. For those of you who know him personally, humble is an understatement.

His costs of medical assistance will be roughly $7,000 per month to start with the potential of it increasing as his condition worsens. We are unsure of how much longer he will be a fighter, but the doctor has suggested a mere three months more.

My only personal goal as his daughter is to ensure that he is as comfortable as can be, and gets to enjoy time with myself and my boys, Cristiano and Luciano, whom he loves dearly. We would love nothing more than to have him enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with us, and have him watch the boys light up while opening presents from Papa on Christmas Day.
