As the days fall away from me, I am left with only more struggle in understanding the sheer and utter despair Michael must have been feeling. He was the kind of person who made a lasting impact on those who had the joy of knowing him. He was loved by so many people. My little ball of energy, once so full of laughter, who loved back rubs to fall asleep, embarked on solo bike tours at the age of three, loved sitting quietly in nature and who grew into a love for creating music has now faded away.
On July 16, 2022 my son took his own life at the age of 22. My devastation and heartache leaves me with an overwhelming sadness. A sadness for how our society is changing, a sadness for our shift in values, a sadness for our future generations to come. At the same time, it brings me hope, hope that we will honor and value each person that crosses our path. Hope that we will encourage and support those gifts each of us have been given. Hope that we will live from the heart, and find those quiet peaceful moments within ourselves and most importantly, hope that we are gentle with ourselves and with each other.
And oddly enough, since this tragic occurrence, my husband, daughter, and I have witnessed numerous acts of selfless acts of kindness and love on our behalf. Both from friends, family and even strangers. Undeniable proof that Michael is still with us, protecting and guiding us with his love and light. It has been a very loud reminder of how indeed there is still so much good in this world that is bread by the genuine love and kindness of good people. And let’s not forget about the many miracles that unfold around us each and every day. You just have to pay attention. Like whispers that become so clear in their message when paid attention to. Michael’s voice is now part if that beautiful chorus of whispers. So again, pay attention to the subtle beauty around us. For This is the best way we can honor Michael, to continue to celebrate and cherish those past, and future, moments together.
We will be holding a casual celebration of life on Saturday July 30th from 11am to 3pm at Alicia Park
1301 W Cedar St
Appleton, WI, 54911
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking you send donations for Michael’s daughter Luna who has been in the hospital battling health issues.
