***Raising funds to install a memorial bench or table at the State Fair in honor of Michael Dorschner***

Michael Gray Dorschner was a kind man and a sweet friend an awesome father and he absolutely loved his work at WCCO TV Channel 4. The first robotic controlled weather droids, election night return software, integrating the MnDOT traffic cameras with WCCO's Chyron and titling software, the bicycle powered newscast and countless other innovative projects....all Mike's engineering. Hands down, his very favorite project was working on the annual MN State Fair  WCCO "Fishbowl", inventing new technologies and using his creativity to share science and engineering with others. To honor that legacy, we want to install a memorial bench (or possibly table) at the State Fair Grounds.

Even a tiny bit helps! Proceeds from benches go to support the Minnesota State Fair Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes agriculture, arts, and history of the Minnesota State Fair.

Obituary:
Authorities are baffled today after the sudden disappearance of famed inventor, mad scientist, and member of The Order of Magellan, Michael Gray Dorschner. He went missing Thursday December 10th, after finally completing his life long work on a new form of electromagnetic current that would have changed the way we use electricity forever. The only clues left behind were a receipt for a ticket around-the-world on the USS Vesole and a half-eaten bag of peach gummies. His cluttered workspace tells the story of a creative man who spent endless time inventing new forms of robotics, designing innovative technologies for filmmaking, engineering biomechanical computer programs, and spending time with his wife and children. He also dabbled in small homemade explosives. His family (son - Nathan Dorschner, daughter - Andrea Jones, son-in-law - Kyle Walton, and wife - Rory Jones) have received a single communication which came through on Michael’s old faithful Ham radio from callsign “SK”. The contents are as follows: “.-.. --- ...- .. -. --. / ... --- -- . --- -. . / --. .. ...- . ... / -.-- --- ..- / ... - .-. . -. --. - .... --..-- / -... . .. -. --. / .-.. --- ...- . -.. / -... -.-- / ... --- -- . --- -. . / --. .. ...- . ... / -.-- --- ..- / -.-. --- ..- .-. .- --. . .-.-.-“ The family would like anyone who is able, to attempt to translate this message. Please send any information to the Secret Society of the Sons of Neptune.

Another interpretation of these clues is that Michael Gray Dorschner, Emmy-award winning engineer and World’s Best Father, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his beloved family on Thursday December 10th, 2020 after a battle with cancer. In his memory, please take some time in the upcoming days to listen to “I’ll Follow the Sun” by The Beatles at full volume in his honor and tell your family you love them.
