Dearest Family and Friends,
I am coming to you today with the most urgent prayer request we have ever made on our behalf. Michael and I have navigated many narrow passages and dark nights of the soul throughout our lives and ministry together since October 25, 1986.
We are in need of your prayers, and those of your church, all Christ-loving, faith-believing and praying saints. Michael has been experiencing severe bouts of pain, which recently became chronic and debilitating. He is a brave and courageous soul, but the pain became unmanageable without strong medications. He has not been able to sleep in a bed since September 8 due to the pain. Our recliner has been his bed.
He was seeking to avoid unnecessary doctor bills as we are between jobs and without insurance. Michael had accepted a job with the State of Washington at a Youth Facility in the Seattle area, as a Counselor/Security, and was to have reported on October 15. We were delayed by his present condition. But a Doctor visit last week called for x-rays which showed a mass on the right side where he has been experiencing the pain.
Yesterday, he had a CT scan, in which cancer was discovered in his spine and ribs on the right side. We received the radiology report last evening about 9:30p from our Dr personally. They are scheduling a PET scan, but they are not sure of the waiting time, nothing is available at this time. The arrangements are being made by the Doctor's office at the Stevenson Cancer Center through OU Medical Center (Teaching Hospital) to discover where the cancer is originating from. There is no cancer in the lungs or the brain.
We were getting ready to transition to Washington, and are in shock at these developments. We are in need of your prayers for healing, wisdom, and the grace and mercy of the Lord upon Michael for this pain. They have doubled the pain medication already, and are sending over another prescription for yet stronger medication. We have been told that he should go to the ER with any side effects or further needs. In the natural, we have been given a dire outcome, but our only hope is in Jesus, and we are leaning heavily on His great love and mercy for healing, for we have both experienced divine healing and know that a miracle is not out of range for God's love and mighty power. May we ask you to add your faith to ours for a healing miracle? We thank you for your love and prayers.
