We hope to get some help for a great leader and mentor in our community. Master Michael Kilpatrick is an Army Veteran who served between 1995 and 2003. He has been a Taekwondo instructor helping his students develop the tenets of Taekwondo: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control and Indomitable Spirit.
This gentleman is the epitome of these tenets. He lives and practices them daily. He is selfless and devoted to helping others. He is making such a positive impact on all the kids that participate in his program. These last few years have been difficult for many families. His family is no different. He and his wife have been working hard to stay afloat during this time. A couple of months back, they decided for him to take his passion for Taekwondo to give the kids of our community a chance to have a positive program to help them develop discipline and character. He put everything on the line to open up his own Taekwondo studio in Graham. They have been surviving on only his wife's income to be able to try to get his business off of the ground. This type of diagnosis is never good, but this timing makes it all the more challenging for their family.
He is a great teacher and inspiration to all the kids that participate in his program and a lot of them are counting on him to be able to continue helping them along their journey. Unfortunately, he will be working to win this battle for his health, making it challenging for him to teach all his classes. His wife will also have to take him to appointments and treatments, making it hard for them to make ends meet due to missing work and income. Any help would be very much appreciated.
