A Christmas Story
An electric stove, purchased, delivered and installed; videos to Michael from Aaron Murray and Coach Dooley; a check from a family trust from a family Michael and Tricia have never met; Tricia's uncles from America's greatest generation lending their wisdom and their wallet; a ‘Gaga’ who comes by daily to make Michael a soft-boiled egg while surreptitiously checking on him; roof repairs ending their fireplace waterfall; a magical Christmas tree appearing on Thanksgiving night; pine straw beds suddenly brought back to life; Lacrosse fees paid anonymously; Tricia working weekends after a long week educating the little ones; a secondhand car for their teenagers; dinner delivered every Wednesday for a year and monthly donations for years; college tuition gifted by Gaga's childhood friend. Christmas blessings such as these occur throughout the year at the Eith house, displaying the hands of God working through friends and family. Michael and Tricia truly believe that they will be loved and will be cared for, regardless of their circumstances.
We last reached out to you in 2017 in hopes of buying Michael a year to recover. You provided a year and a half of living expenses, thank you! Unfortunately, the doctor could not buy him a healed body. He was wheeled back into surgery last December and wheeled out with only five remaining feet of short intestine, a new diagnosis of Short Bowel Syndrome in conjunction with an ostomy, and a TPN feeding tube. Basically, other than one quarter of the small intestines that you and I have, his major digestive organs have been removed, and his life sustaining nutrition and vitamins are delivered via an IV. A year later, Michael has good days, and he has bad days. I wish I could report that they are equally distributed. The nightly fourteen hour drip has allowed him to put on weight :) the central line to his heart became infected :( he had it replaced and escaped the hospital COVID free :) Tricia still puts up with him :) :)
A very dear life-long friend of Michael’s called me today with a Christmas wish. His company is matching funds that we can raise for their family between now and the end of the year (up to a certain amount). It is his wish that we can raise $4750 with this GoFundMe page and then double it, giving Michael and Tricia $9500.
This Christmas story was written to thank you, their angels. I have not lived your generosity but have been privileged to watch it unfold, many times with tears in my eyes. You are the most generous, most giving family and friends one could imagine. So please know that we are not asking anyone to 'dig deeper'; we just saw an opportunity to present. The real gift to their family will be the prayers and love you leave in the comments section-which they will eventually see, but for now this is a secret. *ARGH people are having a hard time leaving comments. Please send all wishes directly to Brian or Terri.
Merry merry Christmas to you and your family!

We never imagined that friends and family would love Michael and Tricia so hard that they would provide a brand new roof for Christmas! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
