We are deeply saddened to share that on September 18, 2021, Michael E. "Poppa" Hill of Knoxville, TN, 59, known for taking brief naps while driving, finally took the long nap to meet Jesus.

 

Mike was loved by so many people who were blessed to know him. He was especially loved by his family. Beloved husband of 24 years to Debra Hill, father of ten, grandfather of nine, and great-grandfather of two, Mike understood the importance of family. His family will miss his persistence and strength, which carried and protected all of them. The sound of his loud snores that kept him and the rest of his family awake all night will be dearly missed.

 

With this grief and sorrow, we ask for donations to help his family with funeral costs and provide future support for Mike's wife and large family.

 

Mike worked for more than 15 years for Fred Harvey, plumbing and wiring houses, squirming through crawlspaces, and generally having a good time. His professional legacy is spread across East Tennessee in many homes and businesses.
