It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Michael Anthony Cottrell Jr; known to most by his nickname...Mikey.
Michael was a Singer, Songwriter, Producer and aspiring entrepreneur that possessed the ability to light up any room he entered, oftentimes, shifting the very atmosphere for the better.
He Dreamed of taking Gospel Music to the next level and to lend his voice and the songs in his heart to the World. He Dreamed of creating opportunities that would bring prosperity to those that have been disenfranchised and locked out of the American Dream.
Mikey was loved and treasured by many people from every part of this nation because everyone instantly sensed his genuine heart from the very first encounter.
Mikey was a passionate lover of Jesus Christ and he deeply loved his Church Family and Friends at First Baptist Jonesboro.
Mikey is survived by his father, Michael Cottrell Sr; his sisters, Mykala and Tierra. Mikey is also survived by his brothers Isaiah and Dorian; as well as, a host of Grandparents, God-Parents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends from Coast to Coast.
As the family was caught completely off guard with the sudden passing of Michael Jr and are simply focused on trying somehow to cope with the immense sadness and extreme trauma stemming from this loss, we want to rally to raise money for the family.
Our prayer is that we can ban together to ensure that the family does not have to worry about having enough to properly lay Mikey to rest and to give him the memorial he deserves.
We believe with all our hearts that helping remove some of the financial insecurity moving forward is the least we can do.
All proceeds will go towards funeral expenses and service the immediate needs of the family.
